Keyport Expands To Duluth + Renovates Former Lake Aire Bottle Shop Location
Earlier this year, owners of Keyport Liquor in Superior purchased the Lake Aire Bottle Shop on London Road in Duluth. Keyport Liquor and Lounge has been a local favorite stop for many in Superior for years. Now, the family is expanding the business to East Duluth.
Here's a before photo of Lake Aire Bottle Shop so you can notice the changes.
Keyport Liquor, located at 2530 London Road in Duluth was once Lake Aire Bottle Shop. The owners of Lake Aire approached Mark Casper asking if he was interested in buying the store. Months later, the deal was done and Keyport took over in Duluth.
If you drive down London Road, you can't miss the signs.
They made some changes and remodeled the interior. Lake Aire used to have two checkouts in front of the door. Those have been removed.
Now, Keyport has a checkout pushed to the London Road side of the building, creating a better flow.
New flooring, trim, and a fresh coat of paint have been added all the way around. It does feel brighter and warmer than it did before.
Keyport signage can also be seen above the cooler section along the walls.
I wondered if the prices would be as cheap in the Duluth location as the Superior Keyport. They've had some of the lowest prices in the whole region for years. I was pleasantly surprised when I found Stolichnya Vodka for a bargain price. This sells for almost double at other liquor stores. Also, if you are worried you are supporting Russia by drinking Stoli, don't worry, you're not. It's actually made in Latvia.
I have to admit I was a little surprised that the prices were so low in a higher-income neighborhood. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy about it!
Something that was different from the Superior store was that instead of Packers on the beer cans, Vikings were represented. Hey, just in time for this Sunday's game at Lambeau!
Congratulations to Keyport, a family business that has now expanded to serve more of the Twin Ports community.
