Wisconsin’s Biggest Street Party Is Adding A New Music Stage
Every fall, a single mile of downtown Appleton turns into one of the biggest parties in Wisconsin.
Octoberfest Weekend draws more than 300,000 people to College Avenue for food, classic cars, craft beer, and live music, making it one of the largest single-day festivals in the state.
This year's celebration runs Friday, September 25, and Saturday, September 26, and it is a tradition that has only grown bigger over the years.
And for 2026, organizers are adding something country fans have been asking about for a long time.
By Popular Demand, A New Music Stage Has Been Added
The Fox Cities Chamber announced this week that Octoberfest will debut a brand-new country music stage in 2026. According to the announcement, the move answers years of requests from festivalgoers who wanted more country in the mix.
"The addition of a country music stage is something that has been long anticipated, and we are excited to be able to bring this highly requested entertainment to one of our event stages," Octoberfest Committee chairman Paul Schrode said in the announcement.
The new country stage sits on Morrison Street and runs on Saturday, September 26, the festival's main day. Three acts are booked for its debut:
- The 308s -- 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
- Grand Union -- 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
- Nashville Pipeline -- 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

A Closer Look At Nashville Pipeline
The act closing out the country stage is also its most established. Nashville Pipeline has been a fixture of the Fox Valley music scene since 1997, building a loyal following as one of northeastern Wisconsin's go-to country bands.
They are known for high-energy festival sets packed with modern hits and classic country, and they are a regular at fairs and festivals throughout the region. You can keep up with the band and find their other tour dates on the Nashville Pipeline Facebook page.
Five More Stages, A Full Day Of Music
The new country stage is just one piece of the puzzle. It joins five other stages spread across downtown, each with its own genre and a full slate of acts running throughout the weekend. Here is the complete lineup, with each stage's headliner linked so you can give them a listen before you go.
License to Cruise Stage (Houdini Plaza) -- Friday, September 25:
- DJ -- 3 to 6 p.m.
- Boogie and the Yo-Yoz -- 6 to 9 p.m. A Fox Valley party-band staple since 1995, known for high-energy, sing-along variety sets.
Rock Stage (W. College Avenue) -- Saturday, September 26:
- Road Trip -- 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
- Boxkar -- 1 to 2:30 p.m.
- Glam Band -- 3 to 5:30 p.m. A six-piece '80s hair-metal tribute, complete with the costumes, makeup, and big-hair theatrics, performing since 2007.
Pop Stage (Division Street) -- Saturday, September 26:
- Star 69 -- 10 to 11:30 a.m.
- Ask Your Mother -- noon to 2:30 p.m.
- The LoveMonkeys (final tour) -- 3 to 5:30 p.m.
The LoveMonkeys, the beloved Wisconsin rock, pop, and reggae act, are playing what is being billed as part of their farewell touring cycle, so 2026 is a notable year to catch them.
Hard Rock Stage (Superior Street) -- Saturday, September 26:
- Mistakes Were Made -- 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
- Krestfall -- 1 to 3 p.m.
- Trash Pandas -- 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. An award-winning Green Bay/Fox Cities rock band formed in 2019, blending punk, alternative, grunge, and metal.
Alternative Stage (Houdini Plaza) -- Saturday, September 26:
- Mistrial -- 9 to 11 a.m.
- Appleton Rock School -- 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
- Listening Party -- 2 to 3:30 p.m.

What To Know Before You Go
Here is the good news for your wallet: Octoberfest is free to attend. There is no admission charge to enjoy the music, the car show, or the street festival atmosphere. A few details to help you plan, all according to the festival's official site:
- Octoberfest: Saturday, September 26, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. in downtown Appleton, with the traditional Spaten beer toast kicking things off at 9 a.m. at the Houdini Plaza stage.
- License to Cruise: The weekend opens Friday, September 25, with a classic car show starting at 3 p.m. and around 400 classic cars on display.
- Good to know: No pets are allowed per city ordinance, and bikes and skateboards are not permitted on the avenue. The Family Fun Area runs from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Food And Drink
Part of what makes Octoberfest special is the food, and there is a community angle to it: the food booths lining the avenue are run by local nonprofits, who put in the work to raise money for their organizations during the event. You can browse the full list on the festival's food vendors page.

On the drink side, a $5 wristband is required to buy beer, and a single wristband is good for both days. The 2026 beer list leans into the season with the classic Spaten Oktoberfest, brewed in Munich since 1872, alongside a hometown pour in Appleton's own McFleshman's Oktoberfest Marzen.
Other options range from Bell's Two Hearted IPA and Kona Big Wave to hard seltzer, Hoop Tea, and a gluten-free Blake's berry cider. Keep in mind that wristband and beer ticket sales end at 5 p.m., with service wrapping up at 5:30 p.m. Designated drivers 21 and up can sign up at wristband booths for $5 and get free Michelob Ultra Zero all day.
For the full music schedule, parking, maps, and more, the festival's Octoberfest Weekend website has everything mapped out. However you spend the day, the addition of a country stage means there is now one more reason to plan a visit to Appleton this September.
