A short project to inspect some of the ramps along the I-35 corridor in Duluth will bring about closures on two different dates - June 10 and June 13.  According to information released by the Minnesota Department of Transportation, these routine inspections will occur during the daytime hours - starting after the morning commute and ending before it's time for workers to go home in the afternoon.

Here are the details:

  • Monday, June 10:  The I-35 northbound ramp to the Bong Bridge will close from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.  A signed detour will be posted for drivers.
  • Thursday, June 13:  The 21st Avenue West on-ramp to northbound Highway 53 will close from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.  No detour will be posted for this particular closure.

As with any inspection or road construction project, the Minnesota Department of Transportation reminds drivers to exercise caution; slow down and be aware of signs, orange cones, and the workers employed on the project.
