Advance work on the Twin Ports Interchange (Can of Worms) project will bring daytime closures to ramps near 27th Avenue West on I-35 on Monday and Tuesday, December 16 and 17. The closures will allow work crews the opportunity to perform drilling and surveying in advance of the project that is expected to kick off in the spring of 2020.

Here are the specifics:

  • The I-35 northbound off-ramp to 27th Avenue will close around 9:00 AM on December 16.  The Minnesota Department of Transportation expects the first round of the project to be completed by 12 Noon or shortly thereafter at which point the ramp will reopen.
  • Then the ramp from 27th Avenue West to northbound I-35 will close until 3:00 PM.  If that work isn't complete by then, work will resume on Tuesday, December 17 at 9:00 AM and continue until it is complete.

As with any project, MNDOT asks that drivers use caution and be alert in the work zone.  For more details about this specific project, the Twin Ports Interchange rebuild, or any road work throughout the greater State of Minnesota click here to visit MNDOT's information page.
