How to Get Free At-home COVID-19 Test Kits in Minnesota
The State of Minnesota is joining the Federal Government's lead and sending out free COVID-19 at-home test kits to residents.
The new program is eligible for every address in Minnesota, each house can request two rapid at-home COVID-19 test kits, each kit contains two tests, so each home can get four total tests.
Homes can start requesting tests starting today, simply fill out some information including your address and your test will be mailed directly to you, they say that the test kits should arrive in 1-2 weeks.
The kits are in limited quantity, and this is a limited-time offer, so if you want to take advantage of the free kits, act quickly. If you need help or have questions you can call the State of Minnesota COVID-19 Public hotline at 1-833-431-2053.
Homes that elect to request the test kits will be sent rapid antigen at-home tests, not PCR, so the test can be taken anywhere and you'll get the results in about 15 minutes, no need to drop or mail the test anywhere. These tests will also work whether or not you have any COVID-19 symptoms and/or your vaccine status.
The State of Minnesota says these test kits should be used "if you have symptoms of COVID-19, were exposed to someone who has COVID-19, or before an indoor gathering."
The latest data from the Minnesota Department of Health on March 29th says there are 984 new cases of COVID in the state and 8 new deaths, in total since the start of the pandemic 1,428,704 cases of COVID have been reported and 12,390 Minnesotans have died.
