Here's an honor for you:  Duluth was recently named Minnesota's drunkest city in a survey conducted by MSN's Health and Fitness website.

Although native Duluthians may not want to hear it, the data used to compile the survey comes from reliable sources. According to their information, almost 21%  of the cities population takes part in binge drinking - which ranks higher than Minnesota's average of 19.3%;  the national average of binge drinkers is 15% - so our state as a whole is above average.

The survey results may come as a surprise to some Twin Ports residents who often look to the other side of the bridge (Superior) as the more "wet" city.  Superior didn't take the top honors, though - Appleton did for Wisconsin.  It should be noted though that Appleton's share of binge drinkers trumps Duluth at 29.8% - helping Wisconsin keep its notorious reputation.
