Hobby Lobby announced yesterday that they are increasing their minimum wage for full time workers to $17 per hour starting next month. It takes effect on October 1st. They shared the news via their Hobby Lobby Newsroom.

Hobby Lobby founder and CEO David Green says they are happy to be able to provide this to their workers,

"Because this year has presented so many challenges to our employees, we are very happy that we are able to provide pay increases to thousands of our associates before the Christmas season."

Hobby Lobby established a nationwide miminum hourly wage above the federal requirements first back in 2009. Since then they have raised minimum wages ten times in the last 11 years. 6 years ago in 2014, Hobby Lobby raised the wage to $15 an hour. Years later other retailers followed suit. One example is Target raising their minimum wage to $15 an hour in earlier this summer.
