If you are in the market for a unique loft style apartment with a rich history then get ready to pack your bags and sign on that dotted line before they are all gone. WDIO reports that The Redstone House on E Superior Street and 15th Avenue E was originally built for Chester and Clara Congdon way back in 1892. Parts of this historic mansion unfortunately caught fire back in 2014 but after 18 months of construction it has been converted into 11 loft units and 1 commercial space to rent.

The building which is now called The Redstone Lofts was added to The National Historic Registry back in 1975.  Michael Schraepfer, president of Heirloom Property Management said "It was 18 months of construction and waterproofing. The layout had to change. You'll see a sprinkler system throughout the whole building, security system."

Schraepfer also went on to say his favorite part of the renovation is all the exposed brick throughout the building. They had a mason on site for 18 months taking down all the plaster that was covering up the brick walls which are now redone and exposed in most of the home.

Rent rages from $895 for a one-bedroom up to $2,195 for a two-bedroom with a lake view. They do expect some renters to move in March 1, but say they do have plenty of units still available. For leasing information Click Here
