Drivers who travel through Two Harbors on their daily commute will find a paving project that will cause delays and closures.  According to officials with the Minnesota Department of Transportation the work on Highway 61 will begin Monday morning, October 1.

The scope of the project will primarily be on Highway 61 between 8th and 4th Street in the city limits of Two Harbors.  During the work, 6th Street will be closed to all traffic and a flagging operation will be in place to signal drivers through.  In addition, street signals in the area will be set to "flashing red" - making them function as a hard stop sign.

MNDOT is also alerting residents that no parking will be allowed withing the flagging area, and there will be an 11-foot width restriction in place.

At this point MNDOT has not offered a timeline for the project. To learn more about the work, click here to visit the project page on their website.
