The plan to make improvements to the Highway 53 / Highway 1 corridor is moving forward, following a public input session held in December 6.  The Minnesota Department of Transportation collected comments and suggestions from the public that attended the meeting in Cook and has plotted the results out in an Environmental Assessment Worksheet (EAW).

Under best practices of a Responsible Government Unit - and under the guise of transparency, MNDOT is sharing that worksheet with the general public.  Along with distribution to various interested agencies, MNDOT is making it available for review at the following locations:

  • Cook Public Library:  103 South River Street, Cook, MN
  • Orr City Hall:  4429 Highway 53, Orr, MN
  • International Falls Public Library:  750 4th Street, International Falls, MN
  • MNDOT District 1:  101 North Hoover Rd, Virginia, MN

The worksheet is also available for review online.  Click here.

Josie Olson - the Project Manager for the Highway 53 / Highway 1 Improvement Project - is accepting public comment through January 30, 2019.
