Want help setting a spooky but not too scary mood for the upcoming holiday where monsters, ghosts, and jack-o-lantern roam? I picked up this app for my Grandson Gus (he's almost 3), and he just loves it. My little buddy Gus does not like loud noises, so I needed to take that into consideration. This app sort of introduces Gus to Halloween in a fun and educational way. I downloaded it on an old iPod Touch, and it works just fine. You may want to check this one out if you have a little one too.

From Night & Day Studios, Inc., best for ages 2-5, $1.99, iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad

For your youngest Halloween trick or treater, this sweet peek-a-boo game features drawings by Caldecott award-winning author and artist Ed Emberley. It’s a cute way to introduce youngsters to witches, werewolves, monsters and such in a funny but not scary way. Kids hear a sound and see the doors of a spooky manor shaking. They play by tapping the doors to see who is hiding. The doors open to reveal a Halloween creature making a silly sound.
