The Thanksgiving Day Buffet at the DECC is back in action this year! The holiday event is completely free and serves about 5,000 people in the area that are in need.

The event takes place on Thursday, November 28th (Thanksgiving, of course) and goes from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Due to the huge volume of people the DECC serves for the feast, they are looking for volunteers. Volunteers are needed to prepare and/or serve food. If you are interested in either of these positions, you are asked to sign up online here.

If you want to help but aren't able to volunteer, you can donate to the cause online.

The DTA is also offering free bus rides to the DECC on Thanksgiving if you aren't able to find a ride. Their website has all the route information you need - or you can call them at 218-722-7283.

If you or someone you know isn't able to make it there, there is an option to get the meal delivered to a home. To schedule a delivery, call 218-723-6484 and follow the prompts. You must schedule the delivery by Friday, November 22nd.

There are a few things to note with home delivery: only one to two meals are allowed per household, which includes one for the individual and another for their caregiver.

You can call representatives at the DECC if you have any questions. They can be reached at 218-723-6774.

In case you missed it, one Minnesota city was just named the best place to celebrate Thanksgiving, which is pretty cool if you ask me!
