Fond Du Lac Opens Up 500 COVID Vaccine Slots For Carlton County
The Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa has partnered with Carlton County to offer an additional 500 vaccination slots to eligible residents on Thursday, April 1. Potential patients for the vaccination clinic have to meet the eligibility requirements for either Fond du Lac or Carlton County - detailed below.
The clinic will be staged at Black Bear Casino Resort from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Advance pre-registration is required for this event. Call 218-499-6310 to reserve your appointment time and slot if you meet the eligibility requirements. The phone line will be answered between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM.
Here are the eligibility requirements for the 500 COVID-19 vaccination doses:
Fond du Lac eligibility:
- Fond du Lac Enrollee and household members (non-Indians included)
- 1st and 2nd generation Descendent of Fond du Lac Enrolee (non-Indians included)
Or - must be living in the Fond du Lac Service area and:
- Be an Enrolled Member of a US Federally recognized Tribe and household members (non-Indians included)
- 1st or 2nd generation Descendent of a US Federally recognized Tribe and household members (non-Indians included)
- Canadian Indians
Carlton County eligibility: Anyone that is 18 years and older. As per the Governor's request, higher risk populations may be prioritized for appointments.
The collaboration between the Fond du Lac Reservation and Carlton County is nothing new. They have "a long history of working together to most effectively and efficiently serve the residents of Carlton County, including during the COVID-19 Pandemic. [As such,] Fond du Lac has made 500 doses available for wider community use at this event, and the event will be staffed by both health departments."
