Fitger’s Brewhouse Celebrates 25 Years
Raymond and Tim Nelson founded Fitger's Brewhouse in 1995, serving craft beer, supporting local music, serving great food, and giving back to the community.
Current owner Rod Raymond says he continues to focus on those ideals while still serving homemade pub fare and a variety of hand-crafted beers and root beer. Still serving the Wild-Rice Burger his mother Linda made.
The Brewhouse catalog has won 27 awards since 1995 while having over 200 different beer recipes. The most recent awards were "Minnesota's Best Brewpub" by The Growler Magazine in 2018 and 2019, and hoping to keep that tradition going in 2020.
For it's Silver Anniversary, Fitger's Brewery will feature month-long residencies on the Brewhouse stage, performing every Wednesday night from 8-10 pm for free to the public. February’s resident artist is Adam Herman.
As far as giving back to the community, they have shelled out over a million dollars including their most recent fundraising event gave $2,500 for Life House’s new youth center through a beer collaboration with The Duluth Experience, called the Legitimate Hustle Pale Ale.
Over the years the Fitger's Brewhouse has produced more than 1,500 barrels of beer in over 50 varieties from their 10-barrel operation. Fitger’s Brewhouse has worked on a network for their product like The Barrel Room, Burrito Union, and The Rathskeller to carry over 20 unique craft beers.
