An early morning fire has shut the doors at Wendy's on the Miller Trunk Highway.

The fire was discovered when workers were attempting to open the restaurant at the start of the business day.  The Duluth Fire Department was called to the scene at 6:58AM, where they found fire coming from the drive-through area.  The fire had extended into the ceiling area of the one-story building.

Fire crews spent an hour on the scene, extinguishing the flames.  Damage is estimated to be around $60,000.  A cause isn't known at this time.

The location will remain closed during the investigation and until repairs can be made.  There is a second Wendy's location in Duluth on London Road.
