The Duluth Public Library is making a big change Monday (June 15th) and it is sure to make your life a little bit easier!

The Duluth Public Library will begin offering no-appointment curbside pickup, meaning you don't have to call ahead and schedule your book pickup.

Here's how it works: pull into one of the designated parking spots at the library, located on Superior Street. (Note this will be different than before where the pickup location was on Michigan Street.) Bring your library card and cell phone. From there, contact library employees using the directions on signage in the area. Staff will then check out your items and deliver them to a table near the door.

If you plan to walk to the Duluth Public Library, you can still participate in curbside pickup. Walk to the location mentioned above, stand in one of the designated pickup spaces and follow the directions on the signage located in the area.

Here are the new hours for no-appointment curbside pick-up:

  • Monday: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Tuesday:10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Wednesday:10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Thursday: 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Friday: 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

If you have questions regarding placing holds on books and/or want recommendations on new books, you can call a library employee during the following hours for assistance:

  • Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and again from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Thursday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and again from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The Duluth Public Library is located at 520 West Superior Street in Duluth. They began offering curbside pickup in April and have been closed due to COVID-19. I love that they are still finding ways to get books out to people!
