Duluth Business District Street Sweeping Scheduled For April 19

The City of Duluth is planning a little spring cleaning for the downtown areas during the early morning hours of Sunday, April 19.

Crews will be out starting at 2 AM sweeping the streets until the project is finished.  The estimated time for completion is late morning.

Here are the specifics from the City of Duluth:

Spirit Valley business district:

• Grand Avenue, from 63th Avenue W to Central Avenue
• Central Avenue from Cody Street to the freeway
• Ramsey Street, from Grand Ave to 53rd Avenue W
• Bristol Street

Lincoln Park business district:

• Superior Street from Grand Avenue to Carlton Street
• 18th ,19th 20th, and 21St. Avenue West from West Michigan to 1st Street
• Old (lower) Michigan Street from 20th Avenue W to 17th Avenue W
• Depending on progress, crews may try to tackle 1st Street from Old Piedmont to 24th Avenue W

Downtown district:

• E 2nd Street from 6th Avenue E to 12th Avenue E
• E 1st. Street from 4th Avenue E to 12th Avenue E
• Canal Park

The city is asking individuals to remove their vehicles from these areas prior to the start of the project.
