Duluth Area Partners Providing Free Backpacks, Food + More Tuesday
Back to school season is here, which can be an exciting time for families across the Northland. However, for some families it can be extremely stressful as they struggle to provide the necessities their kids need for the upcoming school year. That is why Tuesday's event in Duluth is something everyone should be aware of.
The City of Duluth, along with a terrific list of area partners, is hosting a City Hall In The City: Back To School Edition on Tuesday, August 24 and free Uber rides are even available to and from the event.
The City of Duluth reminded the public of the event on their official Facebook page, noting that it will take place August 24 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. inside North Pioneer Hall at the Duluth Entertainment Convention Center (DECC), located at 350 Harbor Drive in Duluth.
Organizers say the event will be "jam packed" with things to help our community members, including:
- Backpack giveaways
- Food giveaways
- Mini job fair
- RentHelpMN will be on-site
- A free vaccination clinic will be available
- A variety of other free activities
More things will also be available as there are expected to be over 20 nonprofits and service providers at the event, along with Duluth Mayor Emily Larson.
The best part is that everything is free, including Uber rides to and from the event, so this will be a tremendous help for Northland families as the upcoming school year gets underway.
If you need help, please don't hesitate to make your way down the DECC Tuesday. If you don't need assistance or any of the services provided at this time, please share the event everywhere so it can reach those who do.
