It looks like 2020 will see another change in management at the Douglas County Fairgrounds in Superior, as the county board moved to split responsibilities of the fairgrounds and the speedway from each other.  The move marks the beginning (and end) of another chapter for the property.

The move comes after combining the management of both for the last ten years.  According to news sources, the Head of the Lakes Management Group LLC has operated both entities since 2017, after assuming the role.

Head of the Lakes Management Group LLC will still be responsible for operating the speedway for the coming 2020 season; this new arrangement will bring in DLH Management LLC to assume operations of the fairground property - including all of the areas other than the speedway (i.e. barns, buildings, pavilions, etc.)  The Superior Telegram reports that the principal partners in this new management company are "Daniel Litchke and Dustin Soyring, sons of area farmers with experience showing animals at the fair".

The new arrangement is expected to commence sometime after May 1, 2020 - just in time for the summer race season and the Head of the Lakes Fair.
