Don’t Miss Chic’s Memorial Billboard Motorcycle Run
In May of 2020, John "Chic" Ciocarelli passed away leaving many with broken hearts. Chic to put it simply was the best. His smile and laugh were infectious and he had an absolute heart of gold. I knew that a lot of people knew him, as he was a cornerstone in the Northern Minnesota and Wisconsin biker community. It wasn't until after his passing though that I saw just how many lives he touched and impacted during his life. As it turns out, we had many mutual friends and I had no clue.
Chic was a huge advocate for biker or motorcyclist rights, and he worked hard every year getting sponsors for an annual motorcycle run to raise money for biker awareness billboards. The Billboard Run is a joint effort by ABATE of Wisconsin Region 6B and The North East Chapter of ABATE - Minnesota.
For 2020, they re-named the annual run, now calling it Chic's Memorial Billboard Run. It continues on in 2021 on Saturday, September 18th. The run leaves at 1:00PM from The Chalet Lounge located at 4833 Miller Trunk Hwy in Hermantown, MN. You can also leave from Builder's Saloon at 619 Tower Avenue in Superior, WI.
It's only $10 per person to join the run, and even if you have a car, you're welcome to support the cause and help remember Chic. The ride will end at Builder's and there will be a food trucks there. In addition, they will be auctioning off Chic's famous Jack Daniel's shotski. The run will happen rain or shine, and it's all for a great cause for an even greater man. Regardless of the weather, I'm sure that Chic will be smiling down saying his signature line "Oh Yeah".
