As the Cloquet roundabout project enters its third phase, a traffic shift will be necessary to accommodate the work.  Officials with the Minnesota Department of Transportation are alerting drivers that all traffic on Highway 33 near I-35 will be shifted to a portion of the new pavement that was recently constructed for the roundabout.

According to information released, traffic will be restricted to a single lane in each direction and a 13-foot maximum width limit will be in effect; these restrictions are expected to be in place for the duration of the project.

Thanks to hard work and favorable weather conditions, the progress on the new roundabout is on track - at this point.  Officials with MNDOT expect the work on the roundabout portion to be complete at some point in early September.  Afterwards, some final finishing details will need to be worked on - with a target date of the end of September.
