I got home later than usual last night, and to my surprise, my brother-in-law Father Rick  (or as I call him, my brother in law the priest) sent us a box full of books from England. Rick has been a priest in England for many years, and often sends us goodie packages. He knows of my interest in history, and included in the box were many books on the Civil War, and one titled Four Days.

Yesterday's 50+ degree weather was a welcome change from the incredibly cold and long winter we have seen in the Northland. One of the few perks the excessive cold provided was the rare opportunity for people to enjoy the icy beauty of the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore, commonly referred to as the "ice caves" during the winter months.
