Gary Wright has a new book out called Dream Weaver, which he was allowed to write himself. He says he was happy they let him write it because then he could put things in his own words, and write the way he talks.

I've just completed reading U2 The definitive Biography, and found it most interesting. John Jobling takes us beyond the myth of U2, and presents an extremely comprehensive account of the band. You'll find extensive interviews with the insiders, studio presidents, record label scouts, critics, and even childhood friends.

I'm really excited about this book for a couple reasons. First, I'm a huge Rolling Stones fan and have been since I was a kid, Plus, my grandson's name is Gus, so me ordering the book was pretty much a given.  I had a chance to read  the sneaks, and if you happen to be  a granddad, or, soon to be, I encourage you to get the book. Over the years I've read hundreds of books on music, but in all honesty, this is by far the best, and most thorough I've ever read. Derek Jeter got a huge amount of Respect at the All Star game in Minnesota. I was very proud to be from this state when they stood to show respect, as they should, no matter what team he plays for.

I got home later than usual last night, and to my surprise, my brother-in-law Father Rick  (or as I call him, my brother in law the priest) sent us a box full of books from England. Rick has been a priest in England for many years, and often sends us goodie packages. He knows of my interest in history, and included in the box were many books on the Civil War, and one titled Four Days.

It's pretty hard to find someone who is an Elvis fan. It's for those fans that I'm writing this blog post. Priscilla has a new book out titled Shades of Elvis-Through the Eyes of Artists. The book is exactly what the title says it is. A certain group of artists, picked by Priscilla, who had the opportunity to wear a pair of shades that Elvis actually wore.
