With the Labor Day Weekend upon us, this is a great time to check in with the Belknap Street Project.  The multi-year, multi-million dollar reconstruction has covered a lot of ground since commencing this past spring.

Here's what's on tap for this week - after the Labor Day break:

  • On the West End of the project - between Banks and John Avenues, workers will be completing the concrete sidewalk and doing some general landscaping.
  • On the East End of the project - between Birch and Hill Avenues, crews will be working on the pavement and sidewalk removals, repairing the water main, and doing some work on the storm sewer.

As a general reminder, drivers on Tower Avenue are not allowed to make right or left-hand turns onto Belknap Street;  signs are posted and law enforcement is monitoring the situation.

The Belknap Street project is expected to wrap up for the 2017 season sometime around the beginning of October.  It will resume in the spring of 2018 and is anticipated to be completely done by June 30, 2019.
