2021 Bayfield Apple Festival Review
The Bayfield Apple Festival was cancelled for 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic so like many others, I was glad to hear it was on for 2021.
My family makes a point to try to get there every year and we had decided no matter the weather we were going to attend. Upon arrival, it was actually quite warm and we were over dressed. This is necessary for attending as the weather does what it wants there. I'd rather be warm than cold though, so that was a win. It did rain a bit when we were getting ready to leave, but with how warm it was, it actually felt good and was welcomed.
The Apple Festival wasn't all that different than normal years when there isn't a pandemic. There were plenty of craft and food vendors, and lots of the usual activities going on. Like 2019, they did have less portable toilets than were needed for the crowds though. Some of the local shops required face masks and others didn't, which we expected. Also the Bayfield Fire Department who usually has a raffle for a side-by-side or 4-wheeler didn't have that going on. The locals told me the department wasn't able to secure one due to shortages of just about everything. Instead they had a cash raffle of sorts but tickets were sold out by the time we arrived.
Overall, it was nice to have the annual event going again, and all of the vendors we spoke with were extra friendly and seemed happy to be there and we left stuffed with all things apples. I'm not sure if it was busier than normal, but with the way the parking situation was, I would guess their numbers for 2021 will end up being decent. if you attended this year, what did you think?
