Sure, anyone can call the Northland a beautiful place when they visit during the summer and it's 75 and sunny. Spring, summer, and fall in Northern Minnesota and Northern Wisconsin - especially around Lake Superior - offer countless outdoor opportunities and beautiful scenery.

Then, there's winter.

In winter months, when there's snow, ice, and subzero temperatures; it's more of...well, let's just call it an acquired taste.

When winter weather really sets in, it can be pretty easy to just want to hide inside. You might think bears and their habit of hibernating in the winter might have it all figured out.

While it might take a little more effort (and clothing) to enjoy the outdoor beauty of the region in the winter, I promise it's definitely worth it.
