Parking is a big issue - especially in a community that attracts many tourists.  The availability of parking in downtown Duluth and in Canal Park can be limited at times.  However, officials with the Greater Downtown Council, the Duluth Area Chamber of Commerce, Canal Park Business Association and Visit Duluth are being proactive about the cause.

The general public is invited to attend an informational meeting scheduled for Tuesday, March 24 at the Holiday Inn.  From 7:30 to 9:00 AM, officials will help provide an update on the 2010 Parking Panel Report.  Along the way, they'll also share more about technology enhancements coming to Duluths ramps and streets and discuss an upcoming mobility study on alternative modes of transportation.

Some of the officials present will include:

  • Matthew Kennedy - Parking Manager, City of Duluth
  • Tony Janowiec - Principal, Interstate Parking Company
  • Mark Bauer - Parking Operations Specialist, City of Duluth
  • Keith Hamre - Director of Planning & Construction Services, City of Duluth

Members of the general public but especially business leaders are encouraged to attend.
