We still have a few weeks of waiting standing between us and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers' new 'Hypnotic Eye' LP -- but as he's explained in the past, Petty understands that the waiting is the hardest part, so he's helped us out a little by building an online "radio" that plays nothing but all new Petty, all the time.

The new addition to Petty's site, announced via Facebook post, offers five tracks from the upcoming album, which is due in stores on July 29. Available at radio.TomPetty.com, it uses 21st century streaming technology coupled with old-fashioned analog controls; as the post explains, "First, turn the radio on using the button on the right. To scan through the tunes, turning the knob on the left of the radio. Enjoy!"

Petty and the Heartbreakers haven't exactly been shy about sharing 'Hypnotic Eye' tracks up 'til now. Shortly after announcing the album, they dropped the first single, 'American Dream Plan B,' quickly followed by 'U Get Me High.' On July 16, 'Fault Lines' followed, and along the way, they've also released the songs 'Red River' and 'Forgotten Man' via Spotify. It is these five songs that are featured on the new radio player.

So head on over to Petty's site and start fiddling with those radio controls -- and keep counting down the days until July 29, when we get to hear 'Hypnotic Eye' in all its glory.
