If you have reason to travel on Fourth Street in Duluth, you'll want to know about some temporary lane closures coming next week.

Starting Monday, January 4, city workers will conduct soil borings in preparation for the reconstruction of Fourth Street.  The closures will occur one block at a time and signs will be posted alerting people to the work being done. Access to homes and businesses will not be affected and parking will be permitted while the work is being done.

The temporary closures are expected to be finished by January 8.

Fourth Street is scheduled for major reconstruction of both the road and the utilities beneath it beginning in the spring of 2016. The project is being conducted jointly between Saint Louis County and the City of Duluth, and is expected to take two years to complete.
