A nail biter for a first game. UMD had to use overtime to beat an Ohio State team that came back from a 2-0 deficit Friday to get to the game that they wanted to play. Boston University and Boston College have been responsible for eliminating UMD from the frozen four the past 3 years, UMD wanted revenge, and they got it.
I'm so excited for my daughter Kylee! If you think you can't believe it when you watch your child graduate from high school, it's even more bewildering to watch them "walk" to get their degree from college.
I was at the Northland Community Wellness Day this past Saturday and one of the exhibitors caught my eye. Primarily because I use to be a Water Safety Instructor (WSI) at the Wrenshall Pool in the late 70's, early 80's. It's a very fulfilling job knowing that you are teaching a lifesaving technique to students, some of whom are still in contact with me today. If you need a summer job, consider working with UMD's Rec Sports Outdoor Program, teaching swimming.
I have had the honor of emceeing the Northland Community Wellness Day for the past two years and I've watched the event continue to grow both in exhibits and community interest. It's coming up this Saturday and I hope you can make it! One of the growths this year is that the Diabetes Walk will be held in conjunction with NCWD. It's truly a day the family can enjoy for free with over 75 exhibits.
If you're anything like me, you've found yourself on a flight or two looking out of a plane window at the vast scenic expanse below, wondering where you are or what you're looking at. Thanks to the inventive mind of a former University of Minnesota Duluth student, getting answers to those curiosities just got a lot easier.
A power outage this afternoon that impacted the DECC and Amsoil Arena continues into the evening, forcing the game between UMD and Bemidji State tonight to be moved to a date to be mutually decided on in the future.
UMD had it's Homecoming Parade run through Downtown Duluth and showed off their fans, Sorority Houses, Mascots, Hockey Team, and some other folks got to be in the parade. I was there and took pictures of everyone in the parade
Organizers are anticipating one of the largest crowds ever for the UMD Bulldogs annual Homecoming Parade - Thursday, October 8 starting at 6:00 PM. The event coincides with the 2015 Homecoming festivities.
