Officials with the Wisconsin Central Ltd (CN) Railroad are alerting the public to some general maintenance work needed on a railroad bridge to the north-west of the Duluth area.
Officials with the Minnesota Department of Transportation are alerting drivers the closure of both the on and off ramps for 27th Avenue West to the northbound lanes of I-35. The closure will start on Wednesday, July 27.
The final design for the Blatnik Bridge that connects Duluth and Superior has gotten a little clearer; officials have shared their intent to totally rebuild the structure and also move the Wisconsin-side landing.
MNDOT crews will work to fix the concrete blowout on I-35 near Moose Lake caused by the extreme heat temperatures a week or two ago. The repair project will start July 11 and last two weeks.
Drivers on I-35 between Duluth and the Twin Cities should anticipate delays and a detour along their route as a road project near Barnum starts on July 7.
MNDOT has extended the completion date for the Twin Ports Interchange project in Duluth. Part of the reason is because they have re-added design elements that were originally removed due to cost concerns.
