International Walk To School Day Is October 8; Minnesota School Children Are Encouraged To Participate

More than 40 schools statewide are participating in International Walk to School Day Wednesday, October 8, to encourage students, parents, teachers, community members and organizations to get out on sidewalks and trails. The event is anticipated to draw participation from more than 4,000 schools from all 50 states, plus Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico, as well as 40 countries around the world.

Hartley Nature Center Homeschool Classes Start September 19

Parents who homeschool their children are invited to take part in an excellent educational opportunity that's provided by the Hartley Nature Center.  As part of their Homeschool Classes program, they offer a monthly two hour environmental education class on the third Thursday of each month from September through May.  The first of those classes is happening September 19.
