"The Force Awakens" movie rating is in, and the new Star Wars movie get the bump to to PG-13 and becomes the second Star Wars movie to get that rating.

Star Wars Episode 7 was given a rating of PG-13 for sci-fi action violence. Five of the episodes received the PG. The Revenge of the Sith came out in 2005 and PG-13 came out in 1984.

Gina Carbone from Moviefone (via MSN Entertainment) said the rating shouldn't hurt the movie too much, saying the following:

PG-13 rating shouldn't hurt the movie at the box office. As Entertainment Weekly noted, "Revenge of the Sith" grossed $380 million, which was $70 million more than its PG-rated predecessor, "Attack of the Clones." Plus, they noted, the top five movies in box-office history are all rated PG-13: "Avatar," "Titanic," "Jurassic World," "The Avengers," and "The Dark Knight".

All I can say is that I have my tickets and ready to go!
