Did you get a text about your Apple ID recently?  The Duluth Police Department is warning the public about a new cellphone scam that is making the rounds that fools people into giving their personal information to the wrong party.

The text arrives on your phone and says "You will be unable to use your Apple ID untill (sic) this process is completed" and then it provides a link for you to click on.  When you click on the link, you're prompted to provide your credit cardt number, name, address, birth date, password, and other proprietary information.  The web page looks like a legitimate Apple site.  It's not.

Never provide your personal information to an individual when it's being solicited without your consent.  If you're in doubt, contact the company on your own terms - using a phone number that you find on your own.  Vigilance is prevention is scamming cases like this.
