Mystery Science Theater 3000 Is Coming Back To A TV Near You.

Fans are now one step closer to seeing the campy comedy series Mystery Science Theater return with a new cast and star cameos.

I have been a fan of B movies all of my movie viewing life. Then one Saturday afternoon on local TV I saw it. MST 3000. The main characters were Joel and his two robots that he made to keep him company as he was trapped on a spaceship and forced to watch bad movies and I truly mean bad.  Bad as in " Teenagers from outer space or Manos: The hand of Fate and also my favorite move monsters Godzilla and Gamera.

In total, 197 television episodes were broadcast from 1988 to 1999. Essentially the same thing happened in each episode: After some brief preliminaries, the bots yelled  " Movie Sign!" and then rushed to their places in the theater and the movie began. We could see their silhouettes, sitting in theater seats at the bottom of our TV screens and, as they watched the movie, the three offered riotously funny commentary, satire and general heckling.

the Kickstarter wrapped up its campaign, earning $5.76 million. Combining that with the $425,000 the creators have now pledged to shoot 14 new episodes next year, including a holiday special.

I will be ready to see what movies they will be choosing as "bad".
