After back to back State Championships with the Hermantown Hawks, Dylan Samberg just got some exciting news regarding his hockey future.

Dylan Samberg, who will be playing hockey for the University of Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs this fall, is now a 2nd round draft pick of the Winnipeg Jets. The former Hermantown Hawk was named the recipient of the Reed Larson award this past spring as the top senior boys’ high school hockey defenseman in Minnesota. Hermantown's Wyatt Aamodt won the Reed Larson in 2016. Samberg was supposed to play a year in juniors before going to play for the bulldogs, but when former Hermantown Hawk Neal Pionk turned pro this spring, it opened up a spot for Samberg.

The good news for family and friends of Samberg? According to Google Maps, it's only a 6 1/2 hour drive to Winnipeg for home games.
