Legendary country singer George Jones has passed away at the age of 81.  Jones was admitted to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee since April 18th with fever and irregular blood pressure.

A presence on the country charts since 1955, Jones lived a life that often mirrored the country songs he sang.   His marriage to fellow country singer Tammy Wynette from 1969-1975 made them one of the first "Super Couples" in music - and led to a long string of hit duets.

Along the way, Jones battled alcohol and cocaine addiction in the 1970's, leading to a long string of concerts that were cancelled - leading to his nickname "No Show Jones".

George Jones is survived by his wife of more than 30 years, Nancy - along with numerous children and grand children.
