Work is progressing on the Duluth Transit Authority's Multimodal Transportation Center in downtown Duluth.  In order to accommodate construction on the project, some streets in the downtown area will need to be closed temporarily on June 26 and June 29.

On June 26, the temporary staircase that is located at 3rd Avenue West and Michigan Street will need to be deconstructed and removed.  Crews will close off Michigan Street between 3rd and 2nd Avenue West all day.

On June 29, the westbound land of Superior Street between 3rd and 2nd Avenue East - outside of Greysolon Plaza - will need to be closed.  A crane will be in place around 3:00 AM to install the new overhang on the building.  This new overhang will replace the one that collapsed in December 2013.  All westbound traffic on Superior Street will be detoured up to First Street.  East bound Superior Street traffic will not be affected.  The project is expected to take four hours.
