More years ago than I care to admit to, I had Bob McDonald as a teacher for World History.  He was also someone that I knew as a classmate of my dads in high school and of course I was aware of his basketball career - even though I never played sports in school.

In  the years that have followed since, Bob has surpassed 1,000 career victories to become Minnesota's winning-est coach.  He has also announced that this will be his final year at the helm of the Chisholm Bluestreaks.

Mr. McDonald expected a lot out of his students and team members.  Respect.  Good behavior.  Short hair.  Early curfews.  A stocking cap on your head in the winter.  A shirt and tie.  Zero tolerance for drugs and alcohol.  The world would be a better place if more people followed these behaviors.

This article digs deeper into what makes Coach Bob McDonald tick.  Makes for good reading.
