Duluth International Airport Recieves County Funding Allocated Towards Renaming It In Honor Of Jim Oberstar

Later this year, the Duluth International Airport will be renamed in honor of the late Jim Oberstar - the congressman from Chisholm who championed Northland causes during his 36 years in the U.S. House of Representatives.  Saint Louis County Commissioners have pledged $30,000 to help the project - a dollar amount that will be added to the $30,000 the City of Duluth has already pledged.  The Monaco Air Foundation is in charge of collecting public and private donations to fund the renaming of the terminal.

Mississippi River Sign Project Almost Complete; Minnesota Department Of Transportation Wraps Up Three Year Work To Mark The Shoreline

Officials with the Minnesota Department of Transportation say that work is almost finished on a three-year project to provide signage along the native shores of the Mississippi River.  By mid-July, the more than 800-mile river will include signs that help motorists and bicyclists better navigate the scenic byways that flank the waterway.
