Hats off to our law enforcement for keeping us safe and upholding the law in our area.  While drug and violent crimes are a large issue, they are making great inroads in keeping this stuff off the street.

Following investigations over the last few months, the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office has arrested 26 individuals with drug-related crimes.

Here are the names of the individuals, their age, location, and a synopsis of their charges:

  • David Lyle Warwas, 60, Hibbing.  Charged with Felony counts of possession of methamphetamine, failure to provide identification and insurance, and driving after revocation.
  • Patrick William Shutte, 43, Hibbing.  Charged as a Felon in possession of ammo and or a firearm, possession of methamphetamine, exposing another to methamphetamine, and child endangerment.
  • Cassandra Marie Maki, 30, Hibbing.  Charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of methylphenidate, exposing another to methamphetamine, child endangerment, and possession or sale of a Legend Drug.
  • Kevin Wayne Kemp, 34, Hibbing.  Charged with possession of methamphetamine, exposing another to methamphetamine, and child endangerment.
  • Timson Ray Carrier, Jr., 30, Eau Claire, WI.  Charged with possession of a controlled substance (Methamphetamine), and fleeing on foot.
  • Timothy Wayne Mallick, 32, Eveleth.  Charged with conspiracy  to commit controlled substance crime in a public housing zone.
  • Joseph Andrew Baker, 39, Biwabik.  Charged with felony counts of controlled substance crime and storing methamphetamine paraphernalia in the presence of a child or vulnerable adult.
  • Alesha Yvonne Johnson, 33, Hoyt Lakes.  Charged with sale of a controlled substance in  the third degree (Fentanyl) and a felony count of conspiring to possess a controlled substance.
  • Bobbi Rae Lassi, 34, Ely.  Charged with possessing 25 grans or more or methamphetamine.
  • Dalton Daniel Herbert Santa, 21, Virginia.  Charged with selling a simulated controlled substance.
  • Bobby Joe Dobbins, 25, Virginia.  Charged with counts of sale of methamphetamine.
  • Casey Jean Moravitz, 36, Virginia.  Charged with controlled substance crime in the first degree, controlled substance crime in the second degree - in a school, park or public housing.
  • Cody Lee Elven, 33, Chisholm.  Charged with DWI - under the influence of a controlled substance.
  • Hunter Jay Johnson, 19, Eveleth.  Charged with controlled substance crime in the first degree.
  • Nichole Marie Michael, 30, Chisholm.  Charged with possession of methamphetamine in the firth degree, possession of a small amount of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.  A warrant is out for Michael's arrest.
  • Derrick Bradley Scott, 26, Superior, WI.  Charged with controlled substance crime in the second degree, and controlled substance crime in the second degree in a school, park or public housing zone.
  • Ashley Marie Pelkey, 27, Hibbing.  Charged with possession of methamphetamine in t he first degree with intent to sell, possession of methamphetamine in the first degree, possession of Lorazepam in the fifth degree, possession of Butane Hash Oil in the fifth degree, illegal possession or sale of hypodermic syringe/needle, possession of a small amount of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
  • Shawn Michael Lee, 32, Hibbing.  Unlisted charges.
  • Jeremy Duane Wersal, 28, Hibbing.  Charged with possession of 25 grams or more methamphetamine and controlled substance crime in the first degree (methamphetamine).
  • Ryan Steven Wersal, 26, Hibbing.  Charged with possession of a controlled substance in the fifth degree (Methamphetamine).
  • Chad Alan Harris, 36, Iron.  Charged with controlled substance crime  and possession of 25 grams or more of Methamphetamine.
  • John Richard Hodapp, 51, Gilbert.  Charged with controlled substance crime and possession of 25 grams or more of Methamphetamine.
  • Tonia Melissa Estrada, 29, Virginia.  Charged with possession of methamphetamine and a count of Introduce Contraband (Drugs) into a jail, lockup or prison facility.
  • Jeanne Marie Lalli Gibson, 37, Hibbing.  Charged with possession of methamphetamine, illegal possession of a hypodermic syringe/needle, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
  • Aaron Jeffrey Hill, 28, Hibbing.  Charged with sale of marijuana, possession of marijuana, possession of Hydrocodone, possession of Tramadol, and child endangerment.
  • Amber Lee Smith, 22, Hibbing.  Charged with child endangerment.

The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office had assistance from the following law enforcement agencies:  Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, Hibbing Police Department, Virginia Police Department, Chisholm Police Department, Gilbert Police Department, St. Louis County Emergency Response Team, Cloquet Police Department, and the Lake Superior Drug and Violent Crime Task Force.
