Work is progressing nicely on the $2.6 million project to resurface Arlington Avenue;  The first phase is finished and now work begins today on the southern stretch of the road between Trinity Road and Central Entrance.

Beginning today (September 10), drivers will encounter a closed road on the southern stretch of Arlington Avenue.  While the road is closed to through traffic, workers will be completely resurfacing the roadway - something that particular stretch of road has needed for many years.

Along with a new 6-inch surface, the roadway will see curb replacement and an upgrade to accommodate the Americans with Disabilities Act.

The first phase of Arlington Avenue is complete and opened to traffic last Friday.  This remaining phase is expected to take the contractor - Northland Constructors of Duluth - approximately 15 days.
