Duluth and Superior have great fireworks displays, but there are plenty of celebrations around the area that are just a short jaunt away. Here are some I have put together.

    Lake Minnetonka Commons

    The Excelsior-Lake Minnetonka Chamber of Commerce proudly produces and hosts the only public 4th of July fireworks event on Lake Minnetonka! According to Lake Minnetonka's Website this event draws over 200,000 people.

    Brainerd, MN

    Brainerd’s July 4th American Celebration –
    Brainerd lights-up the skies each Fourth of July with a fireworks show beginning at dusk at the High School.

    LaCrosse, WI

     

    The Day starts with races for adults and kids. There's music, food, and July 4th ends with the Kwik Trip Fireworks Extravaganza at 10 pm. The celebration starts on the 4th and goes to the 7th, here's a website for the three-day celebration.

    Madeline Island WI

    The Madeline Island 4th of July celebration kicks off every year at 10:30 a.m. with a parade. Fireworks begin at dark and are synched to music with boats anchored all over the harbor as the backdrop. The Madeline Island 4th of July is full of events, ending with the fireworks in the harbor, and has been described as one of the TOP 10 small town celebrations for the 4th in the entire country!     Cloquet, MN

    There's a parade, a 5k, helicopter rides, they center this around families.   There's Sawdust 5k at 8 am the parade around 11 am and ends with the fireworks at 10:10 pm in Veteran's Park. The whole day is on facebook.
