Young Atheletes Foundation Races Open For Registration, Includes KP Challenge

Grandma's Marathon just had their price increase go into effect January 1st, now they announce the 2017 Young Athletes Foundation races are now opened for registration.. Races include the Saint Fennessy 4K, Fitger’s 5K and Park Point 5-Miler, and second annual KP Challenge. Participants can register for one or do all three by registering for the KP Challenge.

The KP Challenge, named after the late Kevin Peterson, locks in the lowest price for all three races with the convenience of one purchase. Participants will receive an exclusive finisher’s jacket upon completion of the final race.

Here are the details for all the races:

Saint Fennessy 4k: Saturday, March 18

Raise your heels – and a toast – at this festive St. Patrick’s themed fun run

· $25 entry fee; $10 for children 14 & under

· St. Patrick’s Day theme, including prizes awarded for the best costume

· Knit hat and Fitsoks for all participants

· Post-race party at McKenzie’s Bar & Grill including complimentary beverage tickets

Fitger’s 5k: Saturday, April 22

Launch your spring training at the 28^th Annual Race

· $30 entry fee

· Finisher ¼ zip and finisher medal for all participants

· USATF-certified, closed, paved course traveling through downtown Duluth

Park Point 5-Miler/2 Mile Walk: Thursday, July 13

Run Northern Minnesota’s oldest road race

· $25 entry fee

· Finisher short sleeve, tech shirt for all participants

· Chip-timed, USATF-certified, closed course

KP Challenge: registration open until March 18

Net proceeds from all races benefit the Young Athletes Foundation (YAF), a Grandma’s Marathon program focused on the promotion and development of healthy and active lifestyles for youth throughout the region. Since its inception in 1990, the YAF has contributed more than $860,000 to area nonprofit youth athletic organizations.
