In the last week, the social media status of two of my friends queried why there was fish listed as one of the ingredients in the yogurt that they were eating.  The product in question is Muller FruitUps and no, the two friends didn't know each other.

Being a curious sort of person, I started wondering the same question - so I had to find out.  A simple internet search determined that many other people - all across the country - were wondering the same thing.  As is often the case, most of these forums demonstrated the users "pooling their ignorance" without bothering to dig any deeper.

So I did.

The answer really didn't take very long to figure out.  On the home page of the parent company - under a Frequently Asked Questions section - was the answer to the question "why is there fish in this yogurt product".  The website explains that kosher gelatin from tilapia fish is used in the manufacturing process - specifically to create a light texture.
