It's one of those Christmas traditions that a lot of folks look forward to:  Getting into the car, driving around the community, and looking at the outdoor lighting displays that homes and businesses put up this time of year!  Folks with the Douglas County Chamber of Commerce are pleased to bring back their annual Christmas Lighting Challenge - going on right now throughout the community.

Entries started back in November voting has already begun.  Click here to see an online interactive map that allows you to find the residential and business entries into this years contest.  All of the entrants are supposed to have their displays up, ready, and lit by December 5.  Voting is open through December 19 - with the awards being handed out on December 21 at Bentleyville.

There are four main categories of competition this year:

  • Best in Home
  • Best in Business
  • Best Home Overall and Master (Competing with other cities)
  • Ambassadors Choice

There's also a fundraising angle to this years competition.  Representatives with the Superior Douglas County Area Chamber Ambassadors will donate $5.00 per entry located in Superior or Douglas County.   All money raised will be donated to the Superior Douglas County Special Olympics - with a $200.00 cap.
