The event is part of the International Coastal Cleanup and it's all part of a bigger awareness to keep the beaches clean.

Duluth is joining millions of people worldwide keep an eye on their beaches. The city is looking for people to help and is asking for a whole day in order to clean up the beaches in the area.

Saturday, September 21st from 9:30 am-11:30 am Duluth is asking 100 people to volunteer and help pick up the plastic, glass, and other garbage littering the beaches and shorelines of Lake Superior and keep their own lakes and river beaches clear.

Clean-up efforts will focus along the Lakewalk from Canal Park to Fitger’s. Registration starts 9:00 am at Canal Park Brewing. Additional locations may be added depending on registration numbers. All ages are welcome to help so this may be a great event to teach a lesson to the kids and bring the whole family. The event will happen rain or shine.
