Too bad the best stadium in the NFL may be empty this upcoming season.

The Athletic polled 31 of its writes to have them rank the top stadiums in the NFL and the home of the Minnesota Vikings, U.S. Bank Stadium was ranked #1 by 23 of them, not bad.

Rounding off the top 5 are Dallas' AT&T Stadium, Seattle's Century Link Field, Kansas City's Arrowhead Stadium, and Lambeau Field.

There are a couple of new stadiums that are set to open this season with a similar roof to U.S. Bank Stadium, the ETFE (Ethylene Tetrafluoroethylene) roof will be in use at the new Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, and SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles.

The Athletic asked, "What makes a great NFL stadium? Is it the gameday atmosphere? The architecture? The sight lines? The concession stands? Ticket prices? History? Several of those things can also factor into what makes a bad venue."

U.S. Bank Stadium opened in 2016 at a cost of $1.061 billion, and like its predecessor, The Metrodome, it has become an iconic part of the Minneapolis skyline and will be loved for years to come.

If you haven't had a chance to visit U.S. Bank Stadium for a Vikings game, concert, or other events, you'll know why it was ranked on the top of the list. Lots of room, great atmosphere, and plenty of bathrooms, unlike its predecessor.
