I guess I might be a little old fashioned when it comes to the holidays. Take Thanksgiving for example. I was always taught that Thanksgiving is a day to be spent with family. In today's society however, things have changed, and not necessarily for the better in my opinion.

Retail stores are now opening earlier than ever on Thanksgiving. I'll admit some of the deals are great, but do you really want to fight hundreds of other early bird shoppers to get a good deal or two, especially on Thanksgiving eve? What about the store employees who are unable to spend Thanksgiving with their families, some who live many miles away? I guess they don't get a Thanksgiving this year.

Personally, I hope the holiday shopping season is the best the retailers have ever had.  I do feel though that starting holiday shopping on Black Friday is just fine. I'm sure  store employees would appreciate enjoying Thanksgiving with their families as well. Don't You?
