This is getting to sound like a broken record.  It looks like the spring and summer road construction season of 2015 will not only see traffic impaired on one bridge but two.  Work is expected to start on  the Oliver Bridge - which crosses the Saint Louis River - on April 13.

Part of the current battle over extending the pipeline system in the United States has to do with safety;  At the crux of the battle is which is form of transportation is the safest means to move oil and gases across the continent:  by train or by pipeline.

Another round of public meetings are scheduled to happen regarding the 2015 update of the Minnesota State Rail Plan.  The Minnesota Department of Transportation has scheduled this second round to allow the general public the opportunity to make their comments and input known to officials that are in the planning phase.

Over the weekend the Lake Superior Railroad Museum celebrated Train Day by welcoming the Milwaukee Road Steam Engine No. 261 back to Duluth.

Train enthusiasts from around the region gathered in droves following the rail line between Minneapolis and Duluth, and congregating at Duluth's Historic Union Depot & Lake Superior Railroad Museum Saturday as the Milwaukee Road 261 steamed northward to the Twin Ports.
